That’s the view on my secondary email inbox. 14 new messages (16 really, in the time it took me to write this, I got 2 more), all spam. It’s the same every day. If I hadn’t switched to GMail, I would be very pissed.
Okay, now that I got that out I better get some work done. I already slackered a bit, added the flickr badge to the sidebar (I’ll finish styling it later), fixed the twitter badge and added back the SnowyDay link, and thought on how cool it’d be to get a clamshell iBook G3 to fool around, maybe install OS X on it. They’re cheap and look awesome.
I found this alternate video for Death Cab for Cutie’s I will follow you into the dark. Not sure if it’s an official version, but I find it much more powerful than the original.
Even though it’s a song about loss it’s a love song nontheless, and one of the best ones I ever heard. What better day to post this than on valentine’s day.
There, I took the typical omg-look-the-back-of-my-ipod-is-like-a-mirror-i’ll-totally-take-a-pic-of-it photo. Now that the novelty is completely worn off I can start actually using the thing for what it was intended. I like podcasts, I like video and I have a video iPod. Let’s find me some videocasts!
I’m already subscribed to a couple, but it’s not the same. I spend enough time already at the computer, the last thing I want to do is sit here even longer to watch videos. My Four Eyed Monsters feed has about 10 items marked as “keep new” for months now. On the other hand, last night I went through 10 episodes of The show with zefrank in a row (though the fact that the show is freaking hilarious has probably more to do with it than the fact that I watched it on the iPod)
So, I’m on the look for new videocasts to watch. Feel free to give me any recomendations.

Am I the only one having problems with WP 2.1? I would have two themes finished by now if it wasn’t for the new freaking version of Wordpress not doing what it should do. Tags aren’t working like they should according to the (incomplete) documentation, breaking themes and driving me insane. And still I keep reading how well this new version is working for everyone else. Sheesh.
Julien Smith wrote a very insightful post (and audio blog, be sure to check that out too) about social currency, and Chris Penn made the point even better. I want to say that the basic idea is give and you will recieve, but while there’s something about that in the theory, it can’t be dumbed down so easily. You should be reading Julien’s and Chris’s posts. They know what they’re talking about. I’m just listening.
Unable to find a bluetooth wireless mouse, I ended up buyng a regular Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000. I really, really didn’t want to buy a Microsoft mouse. I don’t like Microsoft. But it was better than any other choice i had, and truth be told, it’s a pretty nice mouse. It feels rugged enough to last more than 2 months, and it kinda matches my Powerbook. Well, other than the big Microsoft logo on the back.
I sucked it up and installed the mouse driver (you need it to configure the extra buttons). A few seconds later this window comes up:
“You will need to restart your computer to complete the instalation”
Restart?? Holy shit, this thing is corrupting my mac. Last time I had to restart was… well, when I had a PC.
Just before I published the last post, the clickwheel on my 2-month-old mouse died. Geez, that’s what i get for spending as little as possible on something I use for hours every day. I have to get a new one, I can’t live without the wheel. Maybe it’s the chance to go wireless! I don’t want to have to sell a kidney to buy an Apple Mighty Mouse (I don’t really like it anyway), but I like about it how you don’t need to plugin a usb bluetooth adapter to use it. Does anyone know if I can buy a regular wireless mouse and use it with the built in bluetooth on my laptop?
