03/05/07 New Olympus SLRs announced
I’m a huge Olympus fan. My last film camera was an OM2 – best camera ever IMHO, short of a Leica M. I also had a beautiful 35RC for a while wich I ended up selling due to not enough use. My first digital was a 1.3MP D-100 point and shoot; a very simple but extremely responsive camera, and most important of all, very discreet. People were often surprised to find out it was a digital. A photographer’s dream.

Today, Olymous anounced a couple of new SLRs, the E-510 and the E-410. But this isn’t the most exciting news (and that considering I’d really really like to get my mitts on an E-510). They also announced an expansion of the E series lineup with the introduction of few pro lenses including a 14-35 2.0 (two-point-zero!!) and a hint of the succesor of the ridiculously underrated E-1. Hopefully this will mean the Olympus SLR lineup will get even stronger and won’t end up following the path of Minolta (another underrated DSLR lineup, now known as the Sony Alpha – barf).
My next camera will be one of these, for sure.
